The Angel Tree Football Clinic-Bay Area brings together boys from around Northern and Central California to share a day with former College and NFL Football players who serve as volunteer coaches and mentors. The Clinic day is dedicated to Football skills development, teamwork, sportsmanship, positive male role modeling and most of all pure fun! All boys who attend the clinic receive a gift bag with a Team Photo, Team T-Shirt, and many other great "goodies" by which to remember their special day . The Clinic also features a catered BBQ luncheon for all Clinic participants, autograph signing by former Players, Inspirational speakers and a Lift Them Up Ceremony to celebrate all of the boys who participate in the Clinic.

This year the event was held on August 20th at the Red Morton Sports Complex in Redwood City, California and we were once again partnered with the NFL Alumni Northern California Chapter.

The 12th Annual ATFC was the biggest a
nd most impactful yet.  More than 360 young people (between the ages of 7-14 years) from the Greater Bay Area and as far away as Fresno, Salinas and Sacramento,  enjoyed an incredible day of uplift and encouragement. The kids were supported by 103 Adult Volunteers and Coached and Mentored by 57 former College & NFL Football Stars.

Also featured, as the Chalk Talk Speaker, was Sherman Williams, a former running back who won an Alabama High School State Championship at Pritchard High then went on to win a College National Championship at the University of Alabama and a Super Bowl as a member of the Dallas Cowboys, before sinking into a life of drug use and crime.  He is the author of the book
"Crimson Cowboy: The Rise and Fall of a 3-Time Champion". Sherman's challenging talk to the young people, cautioning them away from getting involved in gangs, drug use and the "Street Life" which is what ultimately led to his Fall.  Though Sherman's "Fall" was spectacular, the kids were most encouraged by his story of redemption and hope, as he turned his life around and is now an ambassador of encouragement for people across the world who find themselves in challenging circumstances.
